What is the best traffic to build to a blog or website ?

Many people would likely answer and mention stuff like search engine traffic, forum traffic , paid traffic and so on. well, all these methods of building web traffic do work BUT…

Not all kinds of traffic are equal. Some are more valuable than some. Even some  traffic sources are more valuable than some. Generally Traffic (people) interested in what you have to say is more valuable than traffic that in not interested.

So If I Was Asked That Question ,I Would Say …

..the best traffic is the traffic that will make you the most money or get you a high percentage of your most desired outcome.

So If you plan to make money with Google Adsense on your blog ,your best traffic is people who will click your ads when they land on your blog.

If you want to make money by selling information products ,your best traffic is people who are interested and will buy your products when they land on your site.

This same answer will hold true for all kinds of online business models. Like I said , the best kind of traffic is the traffic that will give you the most money possible.

This Means To Maximize Your Online Income ,

You Have To Target That Traffic And Bring Them To Your Blog

So how does one target traffic that he or she wants.

Its starts with knowing exactly who you want to read your articles.

From there you need to find out what they want to read.

What they want to learn.

What they want to solve.

What their problems are.

From here you can easily know what they want ,target them and write what will bring them to your blog or website.

Many People Make This Mistake

I see people making this mistake all the time.They write about everything on their blog or website. They write about news, the weather , people , jokes , their dogs , cats and anything that comes to their mind.

Well, there is nothing really wrong with this. A few people do it and sometimes succeed but trust me.Many people don’t. It is a mistake.

It is more profitable to target those who you want to visit your blog and write only what will bring them .

Some people think writing 100 articles about totally non related topics is better than writing just 10 articles about a particular topic just because they may get more traffic. They are so wrong. Now I know 100 article might bring in more traffic… but that traffic is both untargeted and unrelated , hence may not bring in good income.

10 000 people interested in 10 topics that lands on your blog is not as valuable as 1000 people who are interested in 1 tiny topic.

I Made This Mistake Too

Am not going to lie .When I started online I also made this same mistake. I had blogs that had too many unrelated articles and that happened because I did not first decide who I was targeting.

On NairaCow.com , I have corrected that mistake because this blog is targeting Nigerians who want to make money online. I could even streamline it more if I want by targeting other smaller niches in that big niche. This I why I write articles that my target market will love and appreciate.
